U-Feast experiences are pop-up style communal dinners, brunches and happy hour experiences that take place at great bars and restaurants across Vancouver. Each experience is a unique, one-off event that showcases a special side of a restaurant, their chef(s), and bar teams, while collaborating with brand partners such as alcohol companies and artisanal food producers for a truly memorable night. With this objective in mind, we are focused on building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships between our team and our culinary partner network, as well our brand partners.

The right candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in the food/restaurant/beverage/hospitality industry. Knowledge of the local restaurant/bar scene and a contact list of key decision makers at restaurants and bars is a major asset. Event planning experience/beverage brand ambassador/experience hosting large groups and/or front of house restaurant/bar experience also a major asset. Must be comfortable with public speaking.

You will be expected to create and manage event curation and execution for our suite of dining experiences. Creativity is a must. Collaboration is key. A love for the hospitality industry runs in your blood.

Our suite of dining experiences in Vancouver consists of 3 types of pop-up style communal events:

  • Communal Experiences

One night only off-menu restaurant takeovers. These social dining experiences allow diners to come with a group of friends or make new ones, as they share in great food, drink and conversation at communal tables.

  • Communal Feasts (Dinners) – generally take place Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday nights ~ 7:00pm
  • Brunches – Saturday or Sunday @ 12:00pm or 1:00pm
  • Happy Hour – Thursday or Friday @ 6:00pm

As a U-Feast Culinary Events Manager you’ll be responsible for the following

  • Initiating contact with prospective restaurant partners to onboard as U-Feast culinary partners
  • Building and managing pipeline of restaurant prospects for partnership
  • Scheduling meetings with current and prospective restaurant partners (initially as shadow to VP Business Development)
  • Event curation (Communal and PCE)
  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date records in Insightly CRM
  • Reporting to VP Business Development, Chief Experience Officer and management team on a weekly basis
  • Meeting deadlines and targets for event curation
  • Ensuring events curated properly represent the U-Feast standard operating procedures & any sponsor integration (beverage companies, etc.) is approved by U-Feast management team and restaurant partner
  • Gathering menus and event descriptions, logos and photos from restaurant partners according to fixed deadlines
  • Securing signed contracts from partners
  • Host events as a U-Feast representative
  • Schedule and/or run photo shoots (an asset – not required)
  • Write copy for event listings
  • Coordinate local social media channels

Monthly Event Objectives (managed by VP Business Development)

  • Curate minimum of 2-4 Communal Events
  • Bi-Weekly dinner (2), 1 brunch, 1 happy hour
  • Assist in preparing weekly event update meetings remote with Toronto team
  • Preparing quarterly or annual reports as required
