Position Title Alumni Engagement Officer
Position Summary
The Alumni Engagement Officer is the primary point of contact for the TWU alumni community and is responsible for building engagement between individual alumni, the alumni community, and the University. The Alumni Engagement Officer manages alumni programs and resources and works collaboratively with other TWU staff and volunteers to plan and carry out alumni programs, communications, events and other strategic initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
1.) Alumni Relations
Build and maintain on-going relationships with alumni:
Initiate contact with alumni to determine their current level of engagement and interest in participating in the Alumni Association and the activities of TWU.
Maintain regular contact with alumni through personal meetings and visits, email, and telephone interactions. Serve as the primary point of contact for alumni at TWU.
Find opportunities for alumni to engage with the Alumni Association and TWU. Connect alumni with opportunities that appropriately use their gifts, background, and interests. This may include, but is not limited to opportunities such as:
Mentoring students or other alumni;
Speaking at events and conferences;
Hosting or volunteering at events;
Work with VP, Alumni & Community Engagement (VP) to plan and execute alumni relations strategy
2.) Alumni Association Membership
Manage Alumni Association Memberships, including but not limited to:
Process new members,
Send renewal/expiry reminders
Update membership database
Communicate with members about resources and benefits available to alumni
3.) Student Engagement
Work with the Student Engagement Assistant and Intern, OCE to plan and execute successful Grad Transitions and Young Alum programs and events.

Job Standards/Requirements
Education: BA or equivalent preferred. Education at TWU is considered an asset for this position.
Experience: 2-3 years’ relevant experience with a preference for experience in sales and marketing, pastoral ministry, church relations, donor relations, or public relations.
Equipment Used: PC and Mac, phone, scanner, fax, copier, etc.
Skills: Superior communication and interpersonal skills. Skilled in the use of social media, databases, and email systems as tools to develop and maintain relationships. Skilled in the full range of MS Office software products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint in order to complete project work.
Abilities: Ability to build ongoing relationships with a wide range of personalities and influence others for positive change and growth in their professional, personal, and spiritual lives.
Ability to think and work strategically, independently, and confidently in a busy and challenging environment. Ability to work with little direct supervision showing diligence, timeliness, trustworthiness, wisdom and discretion with a willingness to travel to events and meetings as needed.
Ability to build and manage administrative systems and work plans in order to manage time constraints while easily adjusting to change. Ability to problem solve, find efficient and cost effective solutions to problems and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
