SALES REPRESENTATIVE, INDUSTRIAL PIPELINE SERVICES – NISKU

Trican’s Industrial Services division is responsible for enhancing pipeline reliability and safety by offering a variety of service lines including Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, Maintenance, Inspection and Asset Integrity.

While reporting to the Sales Manager, Industrial Pipeline Services, the Sales Representative is responsible for maximizing sales profitability and growth/account penetration with an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively promoting the products and services of the Industrial Pipeline Services Division.

This position is well suited to an individual with basic engineering and design knowledge related to pipeline systems, construction and project management. Building relationships, a strong technical background and the drive to succeed are instrumental in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initiate contact, through means of cold calls, to introduce products and services within the Industrial Services Pipeline division
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of pipeline operations
  • Knowledgeable of design and integrity management in respect to pipeline projects
  • Travels within the Edmonton region on a regular basis
  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for the organization’s
  • products and services
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations in conjunction with engineering group for current and prospective customers
  • Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints
  • Coordinates sales effort with sales management, operations, administration and technical service groups
  • Analyzes the territory/market’s potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customers
  • Identifies competitive advantages of organization’s products/services and presents to customers
  • Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and technical service areas

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • 1 – 5 years experience in Engineering, Pipeline and/or Energy Procurement Construction, in addition to 5+ years professional sales is required
  • Project Management experience with proven ability to lead and communicate with others is required
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) is an asset
  • Extensive technical and practical knowledge of relevant operations, products, company policies, and government regulations is an asset
  • Admirable interpersonal skills conveyed in a pleasant and professional manner when interacting with employees, management, and customers
  • Skilled in applying problem-solving techniques to complications that may arise
  • Able to prioritize multiple activities with tight deadlines
  • Easily adapt to changing working conditions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
  • Industry training such as first aid, H2S is an asset
