The role of Trainer is to ensure the standardization of training for new, existing staff and Home Based Agents (HBA) while meeting corporate expectations in a clear and consistent format. The trainer is dedicated to the TDC network agencies.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Regional Manager to develop an individual training plan to ensure that the new hire/HBA full training requirements and goals are met;
- Work with the Member Services and IT departments to ensure that new hire set up is completed prior to new hire/HBA start date (computer, passwords, phone, social media access, website etc);
- In collaboration with the Training department, develop a standard checklist that contains everything the new hire/HBA needs to know about Transat Distribution Canada, consulpc, phone system, GDS, suppliers, Mundo,
- Extranet, HR, Destination Transat, Products and Programs, standards manuals, accounting procedures; and the setup of their workstation;
- Provide in-branch hands on training, remote training and orientation of new hire/HBA in the areas listed above as well as areas such as: customer service, sales etc.;
- Provide introduction of how to sell and explain how to interact with clients;
- Provide ongoing support to the new hires/HBA both by phone and during follow up visits to the branch;
- Provide feedback to Regional Manager regarding progress of employees;
- Review legal requirements, branch standards, audit procedures for working at home for home based agents and review TDC Standards Manual with new hire/HBA and ensure sign-off and comprehension;
- Introduce new hires/HBAs to the Destination Transat Learning Management system and ensure that all onboarding training requirements are completed as per schedule; answer questions related to online training courses (HR programs, TDC programs, training tools, partners, etc.);
- Work with new hire to create profile page on TDC Website; support HBAs on TDC Website Content Management (CMS) system;
- Provide support and training as required on Clientlinq accounting system for HBAs;
- Organize Webinars when required.
Requirements
- 3 – 5 years of branch level experience;
- Experience in training or education;
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in travel & tourism;
- Solid knowledge of the Transat family products and services;
- Essential knowledge of PowerPoint and Word;
- 100% fluency in English and French (both oral and written) – Quebec Only;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Effective time management and organizational skills;Aptitude for problem solving;
- Ability to creatively approach complex issues;
- Strong leadership skills;
- Ability to communicate effectively to large groups of people;
- Ability to travel within Ontario/Western Canada or Quebec;
- Extensive working knowledge of business and corporate communications, delivery techniques, and industry best practices;
- Extensive working knowledge of adult learning theories, learning design, and learning technologies;
- Strong facilitation and leadership skills sufficient to lead/motivate a learning audience.
