SUMMARY
The candidate will be part of TrakMaps’ cartography team and will be a critical component of the next phase of the company’s development. The candidate’s technical sophistication and proactiveness will be the key to the the company’s success and expansion.

— MOBILE DEVELOPMENT
Design and Development of full applications
o Architecture Design
o Planning out the development process and allocating resources
o Updating (Improvement and Optimization) of existing apps
o Managing payment systems
o Integrating SDKs and APIs (geographic & non-geographic)
o Routing and fuzzy searching modules
o Modifying, processing and storing large geodatabases
o Deployment and approval of apps in respective app Stores

— DIGITAL CARTOGRAPHY DEVELOPMENT
o Managing development environment for new GPS products
o Creating user-friendly utilities for use with GPS company SDKs; Python, C++ or C#
o Automating data analysis and preprocessing for each platform
o Documenting utilities
o Managing development environment for existing GPS products

Managing and maintaining scripts and utilities
o Analysis and optimization of existing tools (Python, C#)
o Documenting utilities where not available
o Standardizing development components for all products

— REQUIRED SKILLS
o Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science – or equivalent

Software Dev (2+ yrs)
o Development and launch of AT LEAST one iOS app
o Development and launch of AT LEAST one Android app
o Web development (Javascrpt, HTML, CSS)
o Server-side development (AWS, node.js, …)
o Mapping apps and services

– an asset (Google Maps, Leaflet, ESRI, MapBox) o Python o C++ / C# o Knowledge of PostgreSQL / PostGIS – an asset GIS (2+ yrs) o Very solid grasp of GIS fundamentals Teledetection o Vector and Raster formats o Spatial analysis o Geodatabase management Software o Microsoft Office Suite / LibreOffice o ArcGIS for Desktop + Server o Microsoft Visual Studio – an asset o Eclipse – an asset o Linux Environment — OTHER
