Toronto Film School is seeking a creative and innovative Intern- Junior Graphic Designer to join its marketing team at our campus in Concord, Ontario.

This role is a paid internship for up to 6 months.

The Intern – Junior Graphic Designer role has a focus on concept and design development for the Toronto Film School and Yorkville University websites and works closely under the guidance of Marketing Team members to develop intuitive user experiences and interface designs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely under the guidance of Marketing Team members, (notably Graphic Designers, and Landing Page Optimization Specialist) to develop intuitive user experiences and interface designs.
  • Create designs to enhance user interactions, process flows, and website architecture.
  • Apply brand vision and style guides, to ensure that a consistent design language is applied across all sites and marketing campaigns.
  • Understand company-wide goals, and marketing department strategies to apply in conceptual thinking about user needs and experiences.
  • Maintain consistency with established brand identities in the creation of visual elements.
  • Provide insights on industry best practices and market trends in contributing to the continuous improvement of applications and systems.
  • Focused on concept and design development, and comfortable working in web, as well as print design

Position Profile

  • 1-2 years’ experience in Graphic Design
  • Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design or related field
  • Proficiency in HTML, PHP, Javascript, CSS
  • Proficient in: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Dreamweaver, Microsoft Word, Power Point & Excel
  • HTML/CSS experience would be an asset
  • Highly organized and takes pride in meeting deadlines
  • Eager to learn and grow within our team
  • Ability to take direction and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Results and goal oriented – passionate about achieving outlined results
  • Meticulous about tracking, record keeping and reporting
  • Creative flair
  • An enthusiastic approach with the willingness to take on new skills
  • Flexibility to perform assigned tasks independently or as part of a work team
  • Sense of urgency
