Assist and provide technical back-up to IT Specialists and IT Coordinator in implementing and supporting computer networks and corporate telecommunications systems. Provide IT systems training and development on an Authority wide basis. Provide excellent customer service.

KNOWLEDGE:

• 3 year Degree/Diploma in Computer studies or related discipline;
• 1-2 years of experience related to major tasks;
• Solid technical experience in LAN/WAN client server networks (Windows Server, Lotus Notes, Oracle, MSQL, Veritas Backup Exec) RIM / Blackberry; Commitment to continuous learning in IT; A+ and/or C.N.A. Designation is an asset.
• Excellent time management skills, oral, written and analytical acumen.

SUMMARY OF MAJOR TASKS:

1. Assist with administration of Corporate User Network Accounts, Setup, Lockouts, Terminations and Transfers.

2. Provide help desk support to all Authority staff during and after business hours (24/7) “on-call” status.

3. Support the Local Area Network (Servers, desktop PCs, routers, switches, wireless access points, data/voice circuits) and all peripheral systems needs in a multi-site environment.

4. Support administration of the authority’s telecommunication system including Mitel MiCollab systems, softphones, hard phones.

5. Training staff on use of corporate applications.

6. Support the administration of software and hardware security, maintenance and operating procedures.

7. Maintain PC and software licenses in a database for easy reference.

8. Ability to trouble-shoot minor problems and problem solve various computer issues in a demanding high pace environment.

9. Must possess competent communication skills in dealing with users to ensure a high level of customer service.

10. Travel to various TRCA locations and a valid Ontario Driver’s Licence is required.
