Area Supervisor (12 Month Temporary Assignment)

Tolko is seeking a highly motivated individual to assume an exciting, multifaceted role within our BC Woodlands group!

The Area Supervisor will develop and manage First Nations relations in support of Tolko’s Forest Management Activities. This person will have a clear understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and have experience working with First Nations Communities, Government and non-Government organizations. A critical component of this position will be to establish new, build upon existing and maintain current relationships. The position will work cooperatively with other members of the Woodlands team to ensure tactical and operational goals are met through upfront planning and communication in advance to operational development with a focus on joint planning initiatives related forest retention areas and access management strategies and cultural values.


  • University Degree or Diploma in Resource Management or related field;
  • 5 years’ of related experience;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Proven ability to work with First Nations Communities and manage external stakeholder relations;
  • Strong interpersonal, and computer skills are essential;
  • Working knowledge of Canadian forest policy and legislation.
