the United States. Our campers participate in wilderness-based experiences

Camp Location
des Voyageurs Tim Horton (CDVTH) is set on Pontiac Bay of the Ottawa River.
Situated just a 40-minute drive from Ottawa, CDVTH is nestled in the Gatineau
Hills. Due to its ideal geographic location, this region is rich in Voyageur
history and was extensively travelled by many famous explorers. Program highlights at CDVTH
include: overnight camping and backpacking, canoeing, high and low ropes
challenge courses, and waterfront activities such as swimming and tubing.
Work Term
June 5, 2017 – September 1, 2017

What would you be doing?

  • Overseeing the adventure program area, including

maintenance of equipment and proper supervision of staff and campers

  • Providing high ropes instruction and guidance to

groups of staff and kids

  • Ensuring camper wellness and safety at all times
  • Reporting incidents, and completing the

appropriate documentation

  • Acting as a role model for campers to look up to

during the camp session and beyond

Does this sound like you?

  • Pursuing post-secondary degree or diploma in recreation,

outdoor/adventure education or a related field – preferred

  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Level 2 High Ropes Certification from any ACCT

Accredited Vendor Member – an asset

  • Experience with high ropes course and equipment


  • Experience working with youth, preferably in an

outdoor setting

  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Clear criminal background check
  • Ability to live on-site for an extended period

of time and work flexible hours
