The Contract Professional team interacts with a broad spectrum of IBM account teams and external customers, and provides crucial support to IBM in the attainment of business goals. Contract Professionals negotiate customer agreements covering all aspects of the IT industry, including leading edge and legacy technologies, hardware, software and all IT services. Specifically, the Contracts and Negotiations Specialist is a key contributor and team member. The Contracts and Negotiations Specialist; (i) is a highly-skilled and experienced practitioner with a superior understanding of contracting processes, a demonstrated broad set of business and legal skills, and an in-depth knowledge of terms, conditions, practices, corporate policies and procedures, contract development and negotiations, (ii) leads the development of standard terms, conditions and practices, the development of business relationships, or the support of sales organizations utilizing standards or managing contracts, and (iii) supports the attainment of business and financial objectives and is responsible for a high level of customer satisfaction. DESCRIPTION OF DELIVERABLES AND SERVICES The Contracts and Negotiations Specialist will perform the following : Leadership or participation in contract negotiations for significant and complex customer contracts Playing a key role in the ongoing contractual relationship management of assigned IBM customer accounts Reviewing customer RFPs, interpreting agreements and providing guidance to internal clients Preparing contract related analyses, recommendations and identifying and obtaining required approvals Providing expert Law Department guidance and acting as a mentor to lower-level professionals Being an acknowledged expert, both internally and externally, in at least one specialty Law Department area Drafting various contractual agreements, including contracts, schedules, amendments, letters DELIVERABLES Proposal analysis and guidance documents Various contractual agreements, including contracts, schedules, amendments, letters Contract interpretation documentation Approval documentation Activity reports to management
