RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Directing all operations of the store to meet sales targets and control expenses
• Orientate, train and evaluate to meet Territorial/National standards
• Manage health/safety and other related issues at a store level
• Supervise and participate in daily operations such as sorting merchandise, performing transaction, etc.
• Plan store layout to attract customers, such as window and merchandise displays and merchandise displays and decide on in-store promotions and auctions
• Maintain a high level of customer service standard and create an attractive environment for customers
• Determine and maintain stock levels based on store spot checks and weekly sales records
• Complete all financial/operational paperwork to Ministry Unit Officer/s in a timely manner
• Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of the store is up to standard policy
• Maintain control of inventory by ensuring that all merchandise is priced appropriately; control inventory shrinkage by close visual monitoring
• Ensure in-store safety, i.e. snow removal, clear fire exits, etc. ; ensure that the property (store) is secured at all times
• Ensure banking is completed as per store policy
• Formulate appropriate action to attain financial goals, monitor cost of store supplies
• Assure efficient check out service by properly supervising the training and scheduling of staff and volunteers
• Perform other position related duties as required
• Develop new and unique ways to improve service and to create new opportunities.
• Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of internal and external clients to meet or exceed their expectations
• Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
• Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear and timely decisions

• Perform other position related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
• One to three year prior related experience including retail, marketing and store management experience. A fashion background is desirable.
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision and must possess good inter-personal skills
• Must have a good working knowledge of fabrics and fashion
• Ability to judge the quality of clothing and donated items
• Must have a general working knowledge of computers and be able to teach staff how to work the Cash Register and Debit sales machine.
• A good working knowledge of all Thrift Store areas of operation
• Ability to be flexible, versatile and/or tolerant in a changing work environment
• Ability to work with difficult or emotionally needy people in a patient and compassionate manner
