POSITION: Christmas Program Coordinator
(Temporary Contract)

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing the Christmas Program within the mission and values of The Salvation Army
- Providing program and administrative direction
- Ensuring program components are implemented
- Identifying and creating maximum media and publicity opportunities
- Coordinating program communications (written, phone and email)
- Ensuring all donations are received, recorded, disbursed and secured/stored as per CS(C) policies and guidelines
- Attending all required internal and community meetings
- Completing all documentation including evaluations, statistics, weekly/monthly reports and annual outcome report
- Reacting quickly and appropriately to problems; following up in a timely manner to issues that are not immediately resolvable
- Recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and supervising direct reports and volunteers
- Performing other related duties that align with the projects and mission of the Salvation Army
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate should:
- Have a Bachelor Degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be accepted
- Have at least three years of related experience, including human services/administration, working with volunteers and marginalized population and working knowledge of inventory control and marketing/public relations. Prior Project Management experience would be a definite asset
- Have the ability to get results despite a large workload, competing demands and working in a fast paced environment
- Have demonstrated excellent interpersonal and effective oral/written communication skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Access
- Successfully pass a Police Security Clearance Check and Child Intervention Check
- Have a current Standard First Aid certification
- Must be able to work independently
- Be willing to support the mission of the Salvation army, work in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner
