Ensure the programs at Ellen Osler Home are operated in accordance with the mission and values of The Salvation Army, and with applicable contract (s) and/or agreements
Demonstrate a clear understanding of holistic care and is prepared to address holistic needs of clients during all interactions when providing direct service to women in a residential setting
Monitor clients’ activities ensuring all conditions are adhered to.
Responsible to complete all required documentation including: release plan/file review, intake, action plan and assessment: , risk assessment, log entries and case notes, completion and distribution of resident progress reports, termination summaries as required, prepares incident and occurrence reports as required
Liaise with the clients’ supervising parole office, the program manager as well as community services to discuss clients’ progress and advocate on behalf of clients.
Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual statistical information.
Attend Grand Valley Institution and parole hearings as assigned.
Responsible for daily operations when on shift, including providing support to primary worker’s, students and volunteers
Responsible for static and dynamic security of the facility during shifts
Attend and be an active participant in Program Management Team Meetings, Case Conferences, and staff meetings.
Responsible to complete required training as directed.
Performs and coordinates necessary household duties as required
Performs other position related duties as required.
Completed more than two (2) years of Community College
Minimum of two (2) years of prior related experience
Effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and disciplined
Ability to work as part of a team but also independently with minimal supervision.
Cultural sensitivity with understanding and awareness of diversity
Excellent interpersonal skills
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training; Current CPR/First Aid Certification; Suicide Prevention Training
An understanding of addictions, mental health and women’s’ issues related to corrections/justice
Valid Ontario “G” glass driver’s license and a current copy of driver’s abstract that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required
Provide an original copy of a Background Check with vulnerable sector screening (where applicable) that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required. The screening is secured either through the National Canadian Policy Information Centre (CPIC) or through a local police detachment.
May require screening through The Salvation Army Abuse Registry.
Support for and an understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada.

Note: Two (2) positions available
This is a permanent, full time position based on 28 hours per week. Schedule may vary according to requirements of responsibilities – some weekend and evening work is required. Some flexibility in scheduling is required. Required to participate in on-call rotation. Travel is required.
Normal hours of work – this is a 24/7 facility and flexibility in scheduling is required. Your supervisor will set the hours of work and work schedule.
