REPORTS TO: Transportation Manager
Summary:
Provide transportation network support and analytics for Canadian operations.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Determine and assess transportation costs and their impact on North West Company (NWC) business units
- Develops and maintains financial models to ensure costs are within expected levels.
- Compare and differentiate transportation alternatives within the current network and for theoretical network solutions.
- Analyzes and benchmarks service providers against agreed-upon service standards.
- On hand reporting: Ensure that supply chain partners provide NWC business units the required accurate, detailed, and timely reporting.
- On-Time Performance: Monitor and develop reporting and recommendations to continually improve service.
- Communicates with supply chain partners to resolve any issues and improve performance when required.
- Travel may be required for a closer level of engagement with supply chain partners.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the Transportation Management System.
- Provide planning, scheduling, and scanning support as required throughout the network.
- Travel may be required to assist supply chain partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education specializing in supply chain, logistics or transportation.
- Previous education in or experience using transportation and financial modeling tools.
- Ability to develop, implement and monitor Key Performance Metrics.
- Previous experience working with the Oracle Transportation Management System would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
- Proven organizational, planning and prioritizing skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and assignments.
- Effective interpersonal and leadership skills are essential.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of internal and external customers.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must be detail conscious while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and a demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information.
- Previous supervisory and negotiation experience is an asset.
- An understanding of TNWC transportation network and the variety of transportation modes used would be an asset.
