REPORTS TO: Transportation Manager
Provide transportation network support and analytics for Canadian operations.
Determine and assess transportation costs and their impact on North West Company (NWC) business units
Develops and maintains financial models to ensure costs are within expected levels.
Compare and differentiate transportation alternatives within the current network and for theoretical network solutions.
Analyzes and benchmarks service providers against agreed-upon service standards.
On hand reporting: Ensure that supply chain partners provide NWC business units the required accurate, detailed, and timely reporting.
On-Time Performance: Monitor and develop reporting and recommendations to continually improve service.
Communicates with supply chain partners to resolve any issues and improve performance when required.
Travel may be required for a closer level of engagement with supply chain partners.
Support the implementation and maintenance of the Transportation Management System.
Provide planning, scheduling, and scanning support as required throughout the network.
Travel may be required to assist supply chain partners.
Post-secondary education specializing in supply chain, logistics or transportation.
Previous education in or experience using transportation and financial modeling tools.
Ability to develop, implement and monitor Key Performance Metrics.
Previous experience working with the Oracle Transportation Management System would be considered an asset.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
Proven organizational, planning and prioritizing skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and assignments.
Effective interpersonal and leadership skills are essential.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of internal and external customers.
Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Must be detail conscious while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and a demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information.
Previous supervisory and negotiation experience is an asset.
An understanding of TNWC transportation network and the variety of transportation modes used would be an asset.
