As Director of Engineering , you are an important and integral member of the executive management team. This is a highly respected position where you will lead and drive forward the Engineering department within a well renowned equipment manufacturer based in Winnipeg.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role which incorporates many different facets of engineering, from product design, implementation and delivery to developing and strengthening the capabilities of this innovative Engineering team.

What the Director of Engineering does:
Co-ordinates the entire product design process from the concept phase through to final production
Reviews and approves production drawings, instructions, manual and bills of materials
Ensures that all products meet the safety and legislated requirements and product certification approvals
Plans and co-ordinates the production implementation of new designs and includes any changes made to existing designs
Liaises with production, sales, service and quality departments and assists them with technical support issues when required
Manages and leads the engineering department to ensure optimal productivity and accountability is achieved
Provides continual support and mentoring for the training and development of engineering staff
What the successful candidate will bring:
Professional Engineering status with several years of management experience
8+ years of design experience and proven experience with agricultural equipment and/or farming background is preferred
Registered or eligible for registration in a professional engineering association
High attention to detail and results focused
Excellent organizational and communication skills, highly efficient and self motivated
Ability to prioritize, work under pressure and manage disputes effectively
Strong leadership and ability to motivate others
Proficient computer skills and a good aptitude in using MS Office, AutoCAD and AS4000
