What the Accounts Payable Specialist does:
Posts account transactions on accounting ledgers and checks for accuracy and completeness

Verifies General Ledger codes on invoices

Uses the ‘three way match’ concept to ensure purchases are authorised correctly

Processes and reconciles invoices, payments, employee expense claims and company credit cards

Monitors and takes advantage of, where possible, discount opportunities on invoices

Schedules and completes EFT, wire transfers via online banking and prepares cheques

Corresponds with vendors, responds to their queries and resolves any discrepancies

Supports month end closing and assists with related duties

What the successful candidate will bring:
4+ years of related accounting experience

High school diploma and college courses in accounting preferred

Experience using accounting software

Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word

Exceptional attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills and sound analytical abilities

Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast paced and deadline orientated environment
