You are detail-oriented, experienced and technically skilled in a variety of trades. You have proven capabilities to perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. You are diligent in ensuring a safe operation, that key targets and results are achieved, and the effective leadership of work teams while identifying and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Working in our Neepawa location, as Maintenance Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise and act as a technical resource for the maintenance team, including millwrights, electricians, and technicians.
  • Ensure superior operating performance through identifying opportunities and implementing improvements in costs, and plant operations.
  • Troubleshoot production equipment performance issues and provide effective and timely corrective action.
  • Ensure effective implementation of maintenance and preventive maintenance programs and schedules.
  • Provide leadership in driving strong health and safety performance through due diligence, training, audits, communication and education, and root cause analysis of incidents.
  • Implement corrective action to address unsafe situations and employee behaviours, uphold the company’s safety rules and procedures, and communicate with appropriate resources (human resources, health and safety committee) to address any hazardous conditions or unsafe employee conduct.
  • Manage staff to reduce and predict mechanical/electrical problems, and ensure efficient operation of equipment and services
  • Provide extensive plant floor presence, and weekly verification of PMs and work orders.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team and external contractors in ensuring the completion of completed work.

What the successful candidate will bring:

  • College diploma or university degree in Mechanical or Electrical field or equivalent trade certification with 3+ years of experience as a plant maintenance supervisor (Lean Manufacturing experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with health and safety, CFIA/USDA statutory regulations, and working knowledge of plant maintenance functions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of process systems particularly in relation to food manufacturing facilities.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, troubleshooting and team building skills.
  • Proficient with standard office computer technology including Microsoft Office products, as well as database and management systems.
