Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Stewarding Leadership Team, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Responsible for collecting trash, compost, glass, cardboard plastic, and recycling paper throughout the entire resort
  • Responsible for driving to the Town of Banff Recycling Centre to drop off paper, tin, plastic and glass recycling
  • Ensure designated recycling rooms are clean and tidy
  • Assist Staff Housing once per month in removing large items to the Exshaw Landfill
  • Seek areas where we may improve upon our sanitation, recycling and compost program
  • Ensure communication and tasks that are not complete are communicated to the next shift taking over to be follow up on
  • Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Class 5 Drivers License, with a comfort level driving a 1 ton truck
  • Updated drivers abstract
  • Professional appearance in accordance with Fairmont Standards

Rate of Pay:
$16.48 per hour

Physical Aspects of Position (include but not limited to):

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Lifting – Over 25lbs 60% of work time
  • Carrying – Over 20lbs 50% of work time
  • Pulling & Pushing – Over 20lbs 70% of work time
  • Walking – 90% of work time
  • Describe Motions – Example bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching above and below shoulder height, standing and walking
  • Work Environment – Exposure to humidity, dust, noise and fumes

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
