Junior Server – Vermillion Room

A Junior Server at the Vermillion Room is responsible for providing support in all facets of the Bar & Brasserie’s operations. Our Team is dynamic and passionate in their approach to Food & Beverage service, constantly turning a diner’s meal into a memorable experience by treating each person individually and catering their interaction.

Restaurant Overview:
The Vermillion Room is, in essence, a Brasserie. Our all-day restaurant serves breakfast & dinner, lunch during the week, and brunch on weekends. With a 273 seated dining room, 4 semi-private dining rooms, and a central bar with an additional 11 seats the Vermillion Room bolsters a lively, fun atmosphere bustling with diners and showcases the philosophy of local eating, good living, and community.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the

Restaurant Leadership team, responsibilities

and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offer a professional, friendly greeting and engaging service

Complete Daily Operations (i.e. opening and closing duties, stocking of service mise en place, polishing, cleaning, and maintaining service areas as assigned by the Manager on duty)

Assist the Host to meet, greet and seat guests and coordinate with other colleagues and MOD regarding preferences, allergies and special occasions

Maintaining an extensive product knowledge of menu items, beverage offerings and outlet operations

Have full knowledge of all food menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods

Constantly communicating with the kitchen in regards to food expediting, dietary requirements and timeliness of service

Assisting the kitchen with stocking the buffet as required

Assisting Servers to deliver food, clear, and reset table in a timely manner

Assist with the delivery of beverages

Maintaining clean and tidy service areas and guest food areas

Maintain quality and timeliness of service as per Fairmont Service Essentials and Leading Quality Assurance standards

Understanding and adhering to all hotel policies, procedure and standards including those related to Alberta Health and EcoSure

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Junior Server or host/hostess in a high-volume and fast paced environment required

Valid Alberta Pro Serve certification required

Working knowledge of Food & beverage is an asset

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

Ability to carry and serve 3 plates at one time is essential

Constant standing and walking throughout shift

Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs

Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, bending & stretching

Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

Environment includes variable temperatures, noisy & fast paced

Visa Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization
