Host/Hostess – Rundle Lounge (Spring/Summer 2018) An integral part of the Rundle Team, in a fast paced upper echelon of dining. Flexibility is required to work a variety of morning, afternoon and evening shifts including weekends.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager and/or Supervisor, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Completing opening and closing duties, i.e. daily cleaning, dining room preparation, moving and arranging tables and chairs, reservation bookings, confirmations and cancellations, coordinating FOH and BOH with regards to services, guests, allergies, VIPs, etc.
  • Meet, greet and seat guests and coordinate with other colleagues and MOD regarding preferences, allergies and special occasions.
  • Working in a team atmosphere to provide exceptional service, directing flow of guests to maintain effective pacing with seating.
  • Hands on involvement with building and following daily floor plans with forecasted guest levels.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Prioritizing and completing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Participating in ongoing learning opportunities and enhancing their skills, abilities and professionalism for personal growth and development
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Maintaining extensive knowledge of outlet operations and menus
  • Providing phenomenal guest experiences resulting in lasting memories for our guests.
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Previous experience in a fast paced restaurant is an asset
  • Possess Alberta Pro-serve Certification
  • Previous Open Table or similar reservation system experience an asset, but not required
  • Knowledge of food, wine, and beer is an asset
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, crouching and lifting.
