TELUS Health and Payment Solutions are currently seeking a project manager to join our team of Provider Solutions. As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for providing health IT consultancy services for the utilization of health care information systems. This encompasses all aspects of clinical, technical or project management, business analysis, training and change management, architecture, development, best practices, tools and techniques. You will assist clients with optimal use of information technology, specifically electronic medical record and related capabilities.

This is a customer facing role that requires strong written and spoken communication skills with a focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience through effective education and change management.


  • Ensures that the Project Team completes the project
  • Develops the Project Plan with the team and manages the team’s performance of project tasks
  • Secures acceptance and approval of deliverables from the Project Sponsor and Stakeholders
  • Act as the primary contact person with the client
  • Responsible for communication, including status reporting, risk management, escalation of issues that cannot be resolved in the team, and, in general, making sure the project is delivered in budget, on schedule, and within scope
  • Provides a summary document of all milestones and decisions undertaken throughout this process including dates
  • Effectively communicates with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Monitor costs, progress and quality of work for technical component of project work
  • Contribute clinical and technical expertise and background as appropriate
  • Support delivery of training on use and best practices of the EMR solution and ongoing change management support
  • Develop and deliver training programs, technical documentation and/or other content relevant to transformation as applicable
  • Address client issues and propose recommendations as related to software applications
  • Contribute to analysis of client business requirements and develop specifications
  • Understand relationship of application software to facilitate process changes to align workflow
  • Use business analysis tools and techniques to identify, analyse and document client business in order to understand relationships to application software or to allow process changes to improve workflow
  • Regular travel required to client sites

Required Knowledge:

  • Must be the primary author of multiple Project plans
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working in a Project Management Office (PMO) with cross-functional teams is a plus
  • Skills and Functions within the scope of a Project Manager
  • Knowledge and experience training on use and best practice of information technology systems, preferably in a primary healthcare setting an asset
  • Understanding and use of TELUS EMRs in use in Quebec (Kinlogix and Medesync) an asset
  • Experience documenting clinical system workflow

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, fluency in French and English is a requirement
  • Ability to engage with clients to explore and gain an understanding of their business needs and objectives
  • Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence is an asset
  • Knowledge of Salesforce is an asset
  • Knowledge of the Agile method is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a fast moving team
  • Ability to work as a lead on multiple, simultaneous programs with complex components
  • Possesses excellent organizational skills and is detail oriented
  • Very strong customer service orientation
  • Experience managing client expectations
  • Ability to take initiative and drive projects forward
  • A fast learner with exceptional follow-through
  • Ability to analyze current use of EMR and identify areas for improved use, suggestions for changes in workflow or use of the technology is an asset

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in information systems, health sciences, business administration or equivalent experience or education is required
  • Certification: PMP is an asset, but not required

Required Experience:

  • 5-10 years client facing or account project management experience with solution deployments
  • Healthcare industry an asset
