The Resource Manager is responsible for scheduling and deployment of capital program work (both demand and planned work for growth, sustainment and strategic

The Resource Manager is responsible for scheduling and deployment of capital program work (both demand and planned work for growth, sustainment and strategic
programs) to both internal and external build resources.
Responsibilities:

  • To maintain labour interlock between available resource capacity and forecasted workload

  • To accept work at “design approved” status and perform system and process tasks necessary to get the work package to “ready to build” status
  • To understand relationships between different work packages and schedule work in most efficient order to deliver on committed in service dates
  • To understand, operationalize and manage to service level metrics within the business
  • To foster a highly engaged work place environment by supporting frontline team members in a matrix structure

Qualifications
Required Knowledge:

  • Highly developed personal planning and organizational skills and demonstrated track record of handling multiple projects in parallel

  • Professional demeanor and confident leadership style; able to interact effectively with individuals across all levels of TELUS
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills
  • Ability to interpret data and generate innovative and unconventional solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively set priorities, meet deliverables and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations to leaders at all levels with the organization
  • Excellent knowledge skills in all MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of SAP Project System module
  • Knowledge of MS Project or equivalent
  • Knowledge of TELUS Inside Plant and Outside Plant processes, procedures and terminology

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent analytical reasoning, problem solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues

  • Strong ability to plan, organize and implement activities with minimal supervision
  • Strong ability to obtain and compare data and sound judgment in evaluating alternatives
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to utilize a continuous improvement approach
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities, including escalations
  • Ability to negotiate and then meet approved objectives (schedule, budget and quality)

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

  • Post-Secondary education in business analysis, finance, engineering, project management, computer science or equivalent combination of education and systems work experience

Required Experience:

  • Managing forecast demand/capacity levels via forecasting techniques

  • Report and presentation preparation and delivery
  • Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and frontline team members
