Accountable to focus on the day to day management of a sales team with a focus on recruiting, training, developing, coaching and activities management for a team of sales professionals.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high performing sales team capable of exceeding the goals, objectives and financial targets defined in the annual operating budget

  • Drive and support the region’s goals, objectives, and financial targets including revenue, growth, market share and EBITDA targets by utilizing the TELUS prescribed methodologies and tools
  • Own, develop and implement the strategy for retaining and growing TELUS’ wireless and wireline business within small and medium businesses, focusing on both wireless voice and data
  • Build a superior sales team; ensure and support the highest potential performance and encourage career development
  • Actively support a team of highly qualified sales professionals and will leverage your existing relationships to elevate TELUS’ position as a strategic partner, always representing TELUS in a professional manner
  • Coach your team to prospect, present, propose, close, renew and service new and existing accounts
  • Ensure the optimal use of resources by removing non selling activities
  • Provide accurate, relevant and timely management information on the performance metrics for the business in order to facilitate effective business planning, forecasting and resource allocation
  • Engage the necessary resources from within the extended team and external stakeholder community to fully support the needs of the business

Qualifications
Required Knowledge & Experience Points:

  • Strong knowledge of Business 2 Business sales environment

  • A Leader – proven success with managing sales teams or extended teams in a collaborative manner
  • Outstanding communicator able to effectively articulate the vision, goals and strategic imperatives of the business and act as an enabler for feedback
  • A Business Manager – demonstrates knowledge of a wide scope of products and services
  • Strong and effective decision maker able to review options in a constructive and methodical manner to establish the best course of action for the organization
  • A Sales Driver – detailed understanding of the sales process and a proven track record of achieving sustainable, profitable business results
  • An Achiever – proven track record of consistent and sustainable performance, exceeding challenging financial targets

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

  • Undergraduate degree and/or a minimum 5-7 years sales experience at intermediate or senior level

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years sales experience at intermediate or senior level
  • Previous direct/indirect experience in leading a sales team
