As a Manager, Field Support, you will be responsible for leading, inspiring and motivating a team of Business Service Delivery – Field Technicians across the Lower Mainland region of BC. You will be responsible for supporting your team in achieving world-class customer service levels, reliability, revenue, and operational performance in a safe and effective manner. Motivating yourself, your team, supporting change effectively and a strong focus on team culture and engagement are also critical to this role.
What You will do
  • Support a team of approximately 12-18 highly skilled service technicians who deliver TELUS Business products and services with the highest level of service
  • Create and support a high-energy, results-oriented, inclusive work environment that encourages your team members to give their best to our customers, fellow team members and, ultimately, to our shareholders
  • Act as the regional community point of contact for service issues and community involvement
  • Ensure the alignment of all decision-making and business plans with the TELUS Corporate Strategy and the top priorities of the National Business Delivery team
  • Collaborate effectively and professionally will all functional teams to ensure the best service possible for our customers
  • Actively support your team at customer locations re-enforcing our commitment to customer excellence
  • Evaluate and enable the ongoing training and development of your team; fostering a positive culture through formal and informal coaching and assessments
  • Support and lead transformational change for your team in an evolving technology industry
  • Participate in and lead programs that support our strategy and priorities
Your ideal profile includes:
  • Proven leadership experience leading and motivating team members to achieve their full potential
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams through change
  • Ability to effectively assess customer needs, taking responsibility for service related issues and concerns, whilst communicating in a professional manner
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, self-motivate, take ownership of an area of operations, identify issues, and work independently; have a bias for action
  • Proven ability to deal effectively with safety, community, and operational issues
  • Sound analytical skills and the ability to use these skills to support various business decisions or proposals
  • Work experience in a highly operational role with sound decision making skills and proven outcomes
  • Being available day or night to meet critical customer service demands for your region
  • Telecommunications knowledge of data, broadband, voice, data, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud based services, and wireless technologies
Professional Certification and Experience:
  • University degree or technical diploma from a recognized institution
  • 3-5 years of experience of managing a team in Customer Service, Sales, Production or Service Delivery environment; ability to lead virtual teams across multiple regional locations
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required
