TechnipFMC Canada is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Offshore Construction Manager (OCM), supporting ongoing subsea operations with a key client in the Eastern Canada Region. This position offers the opportunity to lead a small focused offshore team offshore, completing Inspection Maintenance and Repair works, as well as light construction and other unique intervention activities. We are looking for an individual with extensive experience in subsea operations as an OCM, with a strong record delivering safe and efficient work in a dynamic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Actively promote and demonstrate HSE Leadership at all times
  • Ensure HSE incidents and non-conformances are logged and recorded appropriately
  • Ensure shift patterns are planned in a manner which minimizes disruption to operational coverage and personnel’s rest periods.
  • All personnel are fully familiar with processes for reporting unsafe acts, time out for safety and ultimately their right to stop the job if they feel it necessary
  • All injuries regardless of severity including pressure related injuries are dealt with in accordance of the company manuals, with any additional local legislative requirements reported appropriately
  • Fully conversant with the procedures used in the event of an emergency


  • Fully conversant with project procedures, liaising with Project Engineers and Client Representatives, and other contractors onboard
  • Assisting with the organizing and prioritization of operational plans
  • Ensuring all tool box talks, shift handovers and briefings are carried out in accordance with guidelines and logged appropriately
  • Assisting with planning, preparation and ongoing management of readiness of project equipment
  • Ensure all system checks and operations are carried out by competent personnel
  • Involved in the planning and assist with project mobilizations and demobilizations
  • Ensure regular updating of operational status, equipment losses or failure to assist in planning and highlight possible issues within the scope of work


  • Ensure the Clients’ requirements are being met in accordance with the relevant standards and procedural documentation
  • Ensure all operations are carried out safely and in compliance with local legislative requirements
  • Ensure all project personnel are familiarized with Permit System onboard to a level appropriate for their job role and all relevant information is logged and permits are taken out by Project personnel and third parties
  • Ensure all handovers are carried out clearly and concisely, ensuring relevant information is logged within the daily log books
  • Ensure all procedural are managed in accordance with the relevant Change Management procedures


  • Minimum 20 years’ experience in an offshore environment, with 10 years in Supervisory roles
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the areas of subsea production systems, umbilicals, risers, flowlines and/or subsea production equipment
  • Familiarity with operating on East Coast Canada
  • Current Offshore Survival, and Medical for East Coast Canada
  • CSWIP 3.2u / 3.4u Qualifications required
  • Emergency First Aid an asset
  • Ability to commit to 185 Days Offshore throughout the course of the year
