Department Overview
The Legal team is an enterprise-level organization within TD Bank that manages TD’s legal and regulatory compliance risk.
TD Legal’s core responsibilities include:

• Public Company Requirements: Responsible for ensuring compliance with the legal requirements for the Bank as a cross-border public company including securities offerings, disclosure and corporate governance
• Servicing Business Units: Provide legal advice to the business activities of TD Bank Financial Group and, in so doing, carry out both a gatekeeper and an enabler function
• Corporate Development: Provide legal advice and participate in the Deal Team for corporate development activities
• Litigation: Manage the litigation and litigation risk of TDBFG
• External Counsel: Manage or assist in management of outside counsel

Job Description
We are seeking a keen student pursuing a career in Law to provide specialized project administration, coordination and basic analytical support for a project within the Legal Department. You are able to quickly learn how to use a new system and provide support to others as they learn to integrate this tool in their day to day functions.

As part of this team, the primary responsibilities will be:

• Provide general analytical, reporting, and business and project control support
• Organize and participate in meetings, including preparing and distributing required materials
• Coordinate and aggregate deliverables to ensure timeliness and quality, including escalating any concerns
• Actively assist with compiling training material and support training
• Research how other clients implement matter management systems and recommend how to incorporated at TD
• Managing relationships with all stakeholders as required and working with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Support the team by continuously developing knowledge of the tool and how it will aid the legal department achieve its goals
• Exercising discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalates issues where appropriate.

Job Requirements
• Experience working in a Legal department
• Prior experience working in an Agile environment
• Experience working with Jira and Confluence

Education
Bachelor’s Degree
