Position Summary:

The QA Specialist is responsible for facilitating and managing the established ISO 13485 QMS system in North America. The person shall be responsible for assisting with technical files, product files and investigations, quality procedures and documentation control, as well as collecting and analyzing data for complaints, returns and other quality processes.


- Supporting all QMS activities including:

CAPA system – Conduct investigations, ensure implementation of corrective and/or preventative actions and conduct verification of effectiveness.

Complaints Management – Day to day management of our complaint management system including follow up with customers, investigating medical complaints and trend reporting (data analysis) on a weekly and monthly basis.

Qualifications and Training – Maintains training documentation and qualifications for employees and contract workers.

Non-conformance records – Maintain non-conformance records and work with Supply Chain and Finance departments to address non-conformance products.

- Quality Process – Drives process at warehouse related to quality control, batch release and work instructions, and testing and qualifications (training).

- Product Life Cycle management – Evaluate engineering change orders and other processes to ensure they comply with regulatory requirements.

- Administrative work – Filing, document creation, photocopying and collating.

- Organizing and storing paperwork, documents and computer-based information.

- Aid in preparation for internal and external annual audits.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

- Minimum bachelor’s degree in the sciences or social sciences

- Excellent communication skills – writing, reading and speaking

- Excellent command of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel to produce correspondence and documents, and maintain presentations, spreadsheets and databases

- Can work independently with minimal guidance

- Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment

- Knowledge of regulations for the FDA, Health Canada and EU is considered an asset.

- 0 – 1 year work experience in Quality Assurance
