What can you expect?

Managing the day-to-day operations of the food and beverage services, you are responsible for key results in the Management, Supervision, Customer Service Delivery and Administration of the Food and Beverage services at Sunshine Village. Working with the Director of Operations / General Manager you will create and promote service concepts to meet the goals of the Food and Beverage group. In conjunction with the Head Chef, you will ensure food preparation is completed in accordance with company standards of quality, portion control, taste and presentation. You are responsible for supervising staff, hiring employees, performance management, and training and development of the F & B staff. Customer service experiences provide by you, and your staff, will meet our level of outstanding achievement goals and take our operations to the next level of excellence. And, by actively participating in developing and delivering a work environment for our employees that encourages exceptional guest service, you will confidently provide the outstanding experience our guests expect at Sunshine.

  • Managing Cost of Sales and Labor costs and reporting to the Director of Operations / General Manager on the performance costs
  • Preparing and implementing a department budget, and monitoring progress throughout the year
  • Ensuring compliance with specified products program to maximize national volume discounts
  • Reviewing Perpetual Inventory and ensuring accuracy with data, filing, and timely follow up on discrepancies
  • Ensures adherence to cost control procedures by reviewing product, labor and supply costs
  • Insuring that accurate records and paper flow for product usage, spoilage, inventories, and labor are maintained
  • Ensuring all front line, supervisory & employees handling or serving alcohol are Serve Safe Certified
  • Meeting the highest levels of safety, equipment operations and cleanliness in all facilities and public areas
  • Meeting full compliance with health requirements, Regional Health Department regulations, and Alberta Labour regulations
  • Developing a high skill level in Squirrel POS usage for training purpose and troubleshooting problems
  • Supervising staff and managing scheduling to maintain high service levels, leading recruitment efforts, job description development, performance appraisals, and training and development of staff
  • Leading communication and resolution of problems between departments and outlets
  • Developing, in partnership with outlet supervisors, training, opening, and closing plans
  • Overseeing and participating in the Group Functions department through meeting with other departments and clients to plan and coordinate food and beverage functions.
  • Leading and conducting regular staff meetings to ensure coordination of activities, review of policies and procedures and ongoing staff engagement
  • Ensures compliance with departmental policies, rules and regulations.

And you have:

  • Proven food service experience with a minimum of three (3) to four (4) years of recent relevant experience
  • Ability to develop, supervise and train staff employees in a management style that encourages outstanding guest service
  • Proven budget management proficiency and extensive experience in the control of food and labour costs
  • Squirrel POS experience & Pro Serve Certified
  • Proven commitment to workplace and food safety
  • Excellent knowledge of wine and spirits
  • Banquet setup and service experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Steadfast daily commitment to staff development, customer and guest service
