Reporting to the General Manager of Enterprise Architecture, the Portfolio Architect for Enterprise Information Security (EIS) works to develop the future state vision for Information Security within Suncor. The Portfolio Architect identifies the required business capabilities, determines required capability maturity and develops the associated multiyear roadmap of strategic projects required to support the EIS strategy. This individual shapes the implementation approach for projects within the EIS portfolio and provides architectural oversight of the Information Security domain for projects as appropriate.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Maintain a strong working relationships with key stakeholders such as the Director of Enterprise Information Security, Process Automation teams, and the Director of Operations Services
Work collaboratively with the other Portfolio Architects to establish consistent approach to strategy, standards, business capability modeling and road mapping
Provide technical leadership, oversight and mentoring to the project Solution Architects and share knowledge with the other members of the Enterprise Architecture team
Facilitate the development and ongoing maintenance of the Suncor Enterprise Information Security Strategy
Develop and maintain a business capability model to shape and define future state vision for Enterprise Information Security
Develop and maintain business capability road maps of the evolution of the Enterprise Information Security from current to future state in collaboration with the Enterprise Information Security and Security Operations teams
Analyze industry trends and best practices to identify best-in-class Information Technology and Enterprise Architecture direction
Analyze enterprise business drivers to determine corresponding change requirements to the Enterprise Information Security strategy and roadmaps
Develop conceptual architectures for Information Security projects and the associated implementation approach and indicative cost estimates
Provide architectural oversight for all projects and programs within the Enterprise Information Security portfolio
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in either Computer Science, Engineering or Commerce preferred
Completed Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification
3+ years of experience with large Canadian Oil and Gas organizations (upstream, midstream, downstream and/or retail)
10+ years of experience of working in Information Security in mid to large sized organizations
3+ years of experience as a Solution Architect developing solutions and providing technical leadership during the project detailed design and implementation activities
Successful completion of ITIL V3 Foundations or higher
Professional certification as an IT Architect with an industry recognized organization (i.e. The Open Group ITAC Level 1 or higher)
Certification in one or more EA methodologies (i.e. The Open Group TOGAF V9, IBM GS Method and/or Fujitsu Macroscope)
Strong working knowledge of Industrial Operation Technology (Distributed Control Systems, Plant Safety Systems, Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition systems)
Strong working knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements such as PCI DSS, COBIT/SOX, ISO 270001 and NERC/CIP

Skills and Knowledge:
Proven track record for developing Enterprise Information Security strategies
Excellent judgment and a pragmatic approach to delivering new capabilities that balance the company needs, business constraints and technological realities
Proven track record for delivering complex business solutions within a regulated environment
Ability to interpret and communicate Information Security related information and concepts in business language / terms
Ability to identify and evaluate vendors and to assist with final application and platforms purchase decisions
Experience leading complex and challenging technical and organizational changes
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build key relationships within the internal and external Information Security and Enterprise Architecture communities, across a multitude of business units and various management levels within the organization
Very strong conflict resolution, negotiation and decision making abilities
Excellent oral and written skills
Excellent time management skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects to a variety of deadlines and constraints
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is based in Calgary, Alberta with occasional travel to Suncor operational sites as required
The work schedule is Monday to Friday with normal working hours
