Job Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator will provide support to the management team. This role will manage human resources activities, policies, procedures, health and safety, and other required administrative support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Recruits qualified candidates which includes creating job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.

2. Prepares new employee offer letters, new hire packages, and completes new hire orientation.

3. Completes and sends all relevant documentation to payroll.

4. Assists with organizing social activities which includes the Summer BBQ and Christmas Party. 5. Organizes and files employee records.

6. Schedules meetings, takes minutes, and ensures the minutes are posted for employees.

7. Manages WCB claims which includes filing form-7’s, reviewing incident investigation reports, and gradual return to work programs.

8. Ensures the first aid room is stocked and safety supplies are ordered.

9. Updates the Safety bulletin board and any other communication to ensure information is accurate and up to date.

10. Co-chairs the Joint Health & Safety Committee and participates in the Leadership Committee 11. Maintains safety training records.

12. Complies with and follows all safety legislation and regulations including Work Safe BC regulations and Stuyver’s plant rules, policies and procedures.

13. Provide administrative support to management as required.

14. Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

1. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Human Resource role

2. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources; CPHR designation as asset

3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; can work well with a diverse group

4. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

5. Ability to prioritize and complete tasks on a timely basis

6. Capable of working independently while at the same time contributes in a team environment

7. Is approachable and values employee suggestions and feedback

8. Proficient with Microsoft Office
