Responsibilities will include:

  • Organize and coordinate pickups & deliveries for all sales in conjunction with Sales Department
  • Request quotes, negotiate rates & book carriers for shipments as required, copying appropriate personnel
  • Prepare proper documentation for all cross-border shipments
  • Plan and track shipments of finished goods according to customer requirements
  • Communicate with Custom Agents & Brokers and Warehouses for inbound and outbound shipments, special requirements, etc.
  • Communicate with Customers and Freight Carriers to ensure accurate and on-time deliveries
  • Analyze current freight costs and surcharges and explore alternatives
  • Recruit new carriers as required, ensuring compliance (if applicable) and ensure all required documentation is on file (e.g. contract signed, insurance cert, etc.)
  • Prepare accurate reports for Upper Management
  • Pick and Pack customer orders and ship with all paperwork by the due dates
  • Liase and communicate needs and dates with Production and Sales Team
  • Ensures all legislative requirements are met for the department including health & safety procedures
  • Data entry and reporting as needed
  • Managing inventory – tracking and communicating inventory levels
  • Must be able to complete customs documents for out going and incoming packages

Must be able to:

  • Live and demonstrate the company values
  • Demonstrate and exhibit high levels of professionalism with internal and external customers

Desirable skills:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a managerial shipping/logistics role
  • Knowledge of warehouse and inventory management
  • Must have strong time management skills with emphasis on meeting deadlines
  • Highly energetic and assertive with strong leadership skills
  • Experience in leading and managing a team is an asset
  • Excellent, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Quickbooks experience an asset, however; not a requirement
  • Work with a sense of urgency and capable of multi-tasking
  • Forklift certified
