Howlers Day Supervisor

Howlers is the on-campus GPRC student lounge operated by the Students’ Association of GPRC. We offer affordable food and drinks focused on GPRC students and are open Monday to Friday mid-morning to mid-afternoon during the College year from September to April. We are hiring a person to be part of a small team to look after the day-to-day operations of the Howlers kitchen and bar.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Executive Director, this position has the following general duties and responsibilities:

Operations Management: Using a “hands-on” approach, oversee and/or complete all aspects of the daily Howlers operations including food prep and service plus serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. You will ensure that Howlers complies with all policies of SAGPRC, GPRC, AGLC and AHS.

Planning and Execution: You will help plan and then work in all aspects of the day to day operations of Howlers. The position is an integral part of delivering activities that support SAGPRC’s overall mandate to enhance student life on campus.

Job Responsibilities include:

• Staffing
• Training and scheduling all Howlers staff
• Cash Control
• Daily cash/inventory reconciliations
• Food Service
• Menu creation followed by preparing and serving the menu items
• Ordering and control of food inventory
• General Administration – Policies & Procedures
• Reviewing and updating of operational guides and licensing

Qualifications:

We are seeking an individual who is an accountable and vibrant leader to make Howlers a safe, fun and affordable environment for GPRC students and their guests. Ideally, this individual will have several years of experience in the hospitality industry, is creative, and relates well to young adults.

This is a full-time term position, approximately 30 hours per week (M-F), beginning mid August 2018 until late April 2019. The wage is $20 per hour and may include benefits for the ideal candidate.

The competition will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
