Stimline is looking to fill the following opportunity: INTERMEDIATE DESIGNER

The Intermediate Designer prepares engineering drawings, diagrams and layouts with detail and accuracy. The incumbent can visualize three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings and visualize the relationships between parts in machinery and systems. Reporting to Engineering Manager, this position will support the work of designers and engineers as well as be able to work independently as part of a multidisciplinary team. The candidate must be able to communicate design ideas and solutions clearly and concisely; both orally and in written communication.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce high quality, accurate engineered drawings using Autodesk Inventor
  • Create layouts and general arrangement drawings
  • Produce detailed fabrication drawings based on existing 3D models
  • Create flow diagrams and schematics
  • Update existing 3D models and drawings as required
  • Develop and maintain specifications, BOMs and material cut lists
  • Ensure designs and drawings are in accordance with established standards and procedures
  • Participate in engineering project meetings and engineering meetings

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualifications require a certificate from an accredited institution in CAD
  • A minimum of six years of practical experience in 3D environment
  • Advanced skills in 3-D solid modelling CAD system; preferably Autodesk Inventor
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks is an asset
  • Experience specifically in coil tubing and wireline equipment is highly desirable
  • A good understanding of engineering concepts is required
  • The ability to schedule and prioritize
  • Strong problem solving and collaboration skills
  • The ability to think outside the box and relate concepts clearly to other members of the engineering team
