Responsibilities
Calculate and validate a daily and/or weekly and/or monthly Net Asset Value (“NAV”) for your assigned funds
Reconciled cash daily (no unresolved discrepancies)
Reconcile the portfolio positions
Accrue income and expenses
Analyze the profit and loss statement
Analyze and validate position market values
Review and verify corporate action bookings
Post accounting entries to the general ledger
Review and validate the partner/shareholder allocation calculations, including management and incentive fee calculations
Research and resolve differences between accounting and trade entry systems daily
Assist with month-end close process
Assist with financial statement preparation (monthly and annually)
Assist in preparing working papers and enquiries related to the annual audit
Periodic financial reporting for Fund of Hedge Funds (i.e. Statement of Assets and Liabilities and Statement of Profit and Loss)
Generate other ad hoc financial reports as required
Review and understand the fund’s offering memorandum and verify that offering memorandum agrees to fund set up and ensure that ongoing operations adhere to offering memorandum details

Develop relationships with:
Your team through effective interactions and information gathering
Supporting departments by responsiveness to queries and effective interactions when requesting information
Customers through accurate NAV reporting and developing superior industry knowledge through training, observing and reading
Investment advisors/managers through accurate NAV reporting
Underlying Hedge Fund Administrators through accurate, complete and timely reconciliations
Continually strive to improve team interactions, communications and dynamics

Personal development:
Initiate, propose and implement improvements to process and operations
Ongoing education of leading hedge fund industry developments (review of written materials and discussions with all team members)
Ongoing personal education by attendance at State Street and IFS training sessions (target: 60 hours of training per year)

Qualifications

Your Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Previous experience in either fund of hedge funds or single manager funds is required
CFA, CGA, CMA, CAIA or Public Accounting experience a plus
Preference for accounting for investments and related procedures and controls
Working knowledge of excel and word
Excellent communication skills
Ambitious and energetic

Organized and detail-obsessed
A passion for learning and growth
