Position Profile: The Coordinator provides assistance with departmental HR functions (recruitment, interviewing, and orientation facilitation), program development, and overall department support.

Main Responsibilities: •
Interviewing & screening of perspective volunteers •
reviewing volunteer applications, conducting interviews, placement of volunteers and updating volunteer documentation •
Providing support / feedback / recognition for all volunteers •
assist in reviewing / updating/ evaluating volunteer programs •
providing clarification re: way finding changes / corrections within the Health Centre setting •
documentation / policy reviews & updates •
assisting in the preparation and planning for Recognition events •
conduct exit interviews •
Providing support / feedback / recognition for the Courtesy Program •
dealing with volunteer inquiries, suggestions, issues, & education •
updating the Courtesy Resource binder and Directories •
liaising with departments & doctors’ offices for updates and changes •
updating the schedule & overseeing entry way coverage •
Operational activities •
assisting with recruitment activities and initiatives to maintain all programs including updating electronic/online postings •
completing projects related to departmental objectives •
take part in professional development, education and external activities •
set up displays •
project work to meet departmental plans •
Monthly and quarterly reports •
collects & assembles data for reports and follow-ups •
reviews attendance audits monthly •
follows up with volunteers re: poor attendance •
report on volunteer statistics for Labour Relations reports •
Organizing and facilitating monthly volunteer orientation & information sessions

Qualifications:
1. Successful completion of a Volunteer Management diploma program required.
2. Volunteer Management Certificate required.
3. Certification and current membership in PAVRO preferred.
4. 2 years of relevant experience in a Volunteer department preferred.
5. Excellent computer skills with basic knowledge of Excel & PowerPoint and intermediate knowledge of Word, Access, GroupWise (email/calendar) and Internet required.
6. Experience with Volunteer Office department software preferred.
7. Accurate keyboarding of 30 wpm.
8. 1 year of experience in interviewing preferred.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Strong customer service skills.
11. Polite and efficient telephone manner essential.
12. Ability to keep strict confidence.
13. Must be a strong team player.
14. Satisfactory Attendance Record.
