Perioperative Services MBA Intern – Working with the Perioperative Services Business Manager, the Clinical Program Director for Perioperative Services, and the leadership team for the Operating Room and Cystoscopy, this role will perform the following:

• Supply Chain Projects
 Coordinate projects under the guidance of the Perioperative Services Business Manager, and the OR/Cystoscopy Supply Chain Coordinator.
 Prepare and maintain project documents using St. Joseph’s Health Centre templates (i.e., Project Charter, Gantt chart / timeline, Meeting Minutes and Actions).
 Develop communication strategies and organize meetings with stakeholders.
 Conduct research and analysis to support project deliverables.
 Prepare weekly status reports for meetings with Perioperative Services Business Manager, including progress and identifying any issues or risks to milestone achievement.
 Prepare monthly status reports on major projects for project steering committee and director.
 Perform tasks related to the execution of the project. These tasks include, but are not limited to data entry (i.e., building data tables in our information systems), creating guideline documents, providing training to staff, creating supply cart labels, reconfiguring supply carts, developing/maintaining Excel spreadsheets).

• Supervision of Health Care Attendants for the OR and Cystoscopy under the guidance of the Perioperative Services Business Manager:
 Create daily assignments and monitor daily staffing for Health Care Attendants.
 Coordinate replacements for sick calls.
 Review staff vacation requests with Perioperative Services Business Manager.
 Create staff schedules covering several weeks at a time. Maintain and update schedule.
 Develop strategies for efficient usage of support staff.
 Collaborate with Clinical Educator for training and process improvement for Health Care Attendants.
 Review, understand, and follow the Union Collective Agreements applicable to Health Care Attendants.

It is anticipated that the Intern will:
Be exposed to management functions within a publicly funded hospital
1. Gain valuable experience working in a clinical environment
2. Have the opportunity to present their work to members of the senior leadership team

The ideal candidate should have training and experience in Project Management, Supply Chain Management, and Information Systems. The candidate will need to demonstrate leadership experience and skills, along with the ability to problem solve, balance priorities, function in a fast paced environment, and communicate effectively.

**Our ideal candidate will be available for full time work for the duration of the contract, however we are open to considering part time applicants as well.
