St. Amant utilizes an interdisciplinary team approach, drawing on a full range of professional services, to assist individuals to achieve and maintain optimal levels of personal development and independence. We are presently inviting applications for the following position:

Position Description

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, and consistent with the Mission, Values and Policies of St.Amant and the Principle Functions and Objectives of Human Resource Services, the Human Resource Consultant (HRC) is responsible for providing a full range of Human Resources services to the various programs and services of St.Amant and ensuring that all of the objectives of HR services are met.



  • Post-secondary education with a focus on Human Resource Management
  • Membership in a related professional association is an asset
  • Attainment of the Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or current enrollment towards completion of required elements towards certification a definite asset

Professional :

  • Minimum of three years in a Human Resource Generalist position in a unionized environment, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge and experience with both Payroll and Human Resource Information Systems
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of all employment related legislation
  • Strong computer capabilities with experience in using Microsoft Office products and applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet browsers
  • Strong organizational, time management and communication skills (written and verbal)

Personal :

  • Demonstrates confidential and ethical behaviour in the performance of all duties
  • Demonstrates customer service and accountability
  • Able to work independently and harmoniously within a multi-disciplined group
  • Functions effectively as a team member, demonstrating emotional stability and objectivity when dealing with challenging/changing work environments
  • Self motivated, confident, creative, innovative and collaborative
  • Able to work well under pressure to ensure deadlines are met
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities
