SouthEastern Mutual Insurance Company (SEM) is a well-established insurance company that has been serving New Brunswick policyholders since 1938. SEM is a financially strong mutual property and casualty company with its head office in Riverview, NB. We deliver home, tenant, farm and commercial products with automobile coverage being delivered in partnership with United General Insurance to our policyholders in New Brunswick.

Position:

As SEM continues to grow we are actively seeking a full-time IT Specialist in our Riverview location.

Reporting to the CEO, this experienced IT Director will oversee all IT (Information Technology) functions in our company. You will be in charge of coordinating the company’s technology operations and the implementation of new IT systems and policies.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all technology operations and evaluate them according to established goals
• Establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by management
• Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
• Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a degree or designation in an IT discipline
• Proven experience in the IT sector
• Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
• Solid understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, Microsoft excel, etc.
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Ability to work independently
• Bilingualism would be considered an asset
