FULL TIME DRIVING DAYTIME PACK LEADER

DRIVING PACK LEADER / PARK SUPERVISOR

MONDAY TO FRIDAY 9AM – 5PM

We are a fast growing Dog Walking, Daycare, and Dog Boarding provider located in Corktown, Downtown Toronto. With a large new flagship location opening in the near future, we are looking to bring new members onto our team that will grow with us, help us hit the ground running in the new space and who will have the opportunity to grow into more authoritative roles when we make that move (managers, shift leaders /supervisors/trainers, etc.)

We strive to maintain the best and safest dog transportation in the city and continue to upgrade our fleet to stay ahead of the pack. A part of this is having the best drivers/pack leaders that we can find.

We are adding another van to our fleet and are looking for our next full time driving pack leader.

Your Role and Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Punctual and regular work from 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday. As you improve on your route and become more efficient, your hours will reflect this and will become shorter.
  • Playing with and supervising the dog pack at our private dog park.
  • Maintaining a safe environment at our Private Forest Dog Run.
  • Ensuring a clean environment for the dog pack at our Private Dog Run – Picking Up the Poop!
  • Driving a customized cargo style van in the Downtown Toronto Area to Pick Up and Drop Off Dogs in a quick, safe and professional manner. These are cargo vans with the same chassis as your typical full sized pick up trucks – the ability to comfortably drive them on downtown Toronto streets is THE CORE skill of this job and is absolutely necessary.
  • Representing Soulmutts when meeting existing clients, as well as being courteous while en route to all potential new clients/dog owners/building staff & residents/etc.

Position Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary Level Education
  • Valid Driver’s License & Downtown Toronto Driving Ability
  • A true love of Dogs and Animals

Personality Requirements:

  • Maturity is a must have!
  • The Ability to Handle Stress and Maintain Composure (Deal with it and Move On!)
  • The Ability to Multi Task & Adapt to Unscheduled Events (Just Roll with It!)
  • High Energy Personality & Positivity (Drama Doesn’t Work for Us or the Dogs!)
  • Clear Communication Skills with Clients AND Colleagues (Speak Up & be Respectful!)
  • Punctuality, Organization, Reliability (We Cannot Work with Flakiness!)

This position is right for you IF:

  • You have a true love for dogs and have the energy/fitness to work with them.
  • You enjoy interacting with both dogs and people enthusiastically – You WILL be meeting with clients and will be expected to represent our whole team/company.
  • Are free of any kind of fear of dogs (size/ breed). Intervening/correcting bad behavior on the spot is expected.
  • You have patience and a calm demeanor. This is a big one. Stuff happens – we deal with it and move on. If one bad moment can ruin your whole day or if you hold onto stress this is not the job for you!
  • You are able to work flexibly; taking last minute changes as they come (ie. clients showing up early/late/unscheduled, last minute additions or cancellations, etc.)
  • You can comfortably drive a cargo van downtown Toronto; free of road rage, becoming stressed out over simple traffic issues and being able to maintain a regular/consistent time schedule for pickups & drop offs.

We are looking for someone who can communicate with us clearly and tell us what he/she needs to achieve success. We encourage feedback and suggestions, and we want to create a comfortable family environment with all staff members we bring in. We are looking to truly integrate a new person into our pack, long term from the ground up as we continue to expand in Toronto. It takes time to learn the route, get comfortable driving the van downtown, learn the streets, bond with the dogs, etc. so we’re looking for someone who will be with us for the long haul, possibly looking to advance in the industry.
