Position Summary

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Business Development Sales Representative will be focused on developing strong and ongoing relationships with current and prospective clients. The BDSR will be responsible for selling all services represented in the construction management portfolio. Their credibility as a sales professional in this role will be magnified by their ability to understand clients’ specific business and project drivers, project challenges. As part of the sales team, this sales professional will be responsible for: prospecting, developing leads, making sales calls, proposal development, recommending pricing and developing customer specific service offerings. The ability to offer an overall customer based solution by integrating multiple service disciplines will be a goal of the Business Development Sales Representative.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop new clients through prospecting, networking and performing sales calls on a regular and consistent basis
  • Record all opportunities and communications in Claritysoft CRM Tool
  • Resolve daily issues, while seeking new opportunities
  • Develop and deliver professional sales presentations to existing and prospective clients to positively position Solstice Projects in the competitive landscape
  • Participate and assist in market research, marketing strategy, promotion, pricing, and public relations activities
  • Implement an individual Territory Sales Plan aligned to meet or exceed budgeted sales performance targets, derived from the corporate business plan
  • Analyze economics of potential deals with thorough understanding of general business management, industry and economic trends
  • Negotiate new and existing contracts and elevate to the appropriate levels for authorization
  • Analyze, negotiate and implement contracts effectively to ensure service delivery is smooth and accurate
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about the competitive landscape through competitor analysis
  • Represent Solstice Projects at industry functions and promote company services at trade shows
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of customers’ business and corporate strategy and integrate this knowledge into all business relationships
  • Maintain contacts with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
  • Provide support to Corporate Management team to further grow our services throughout all major accounts
  • Provide customers with logistics, pricing and volume information
  • Communicate and collaborate with all levels of Sales and Operations

Background & Qualifications

  • University or Technical Education is an asset
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in sales in the oil and gas / construction industry
  • Previous experience in the Energy Services or Industrial Services industry would be an asset
  • Previous oilfield and construction management is a definite asset
  • Strong oil and gas knowledge with experience in construction management or project management services company
  • Ability to communicate effectively and express thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise and compelling manner in both individual and group situations
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work effectively, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities
  • Ability to work well in a team environment or independently as required
  • Excellent in computer skills with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Maintain a positive attitude in all aspects of work along with a desire to continue to learn

WORKING CONDITIONS

Standard corporate office working conditions with potential for travel and overtime hours as required

Success in this Position

Ability to generate $10+ Million annual sales.
