Job Title: Ticketing Coordinator

Department: Box Office

Reports To: Ticketing Manager

FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt

Summary Reporting to the Ticketing Manager, the Coordinator, Ticketing Services will maintain a high level of customer service and ticket sales knowledge, while acting as a public-facing representative of the venue.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Ticketing Manager, assists with building new events in the ticketing system, including ticket setup information, hold locations, inventory control, and event scaling.
  • Works with the Ticketing Manager to produce high-quality mapping and event information to be used by ticket sellers to provide clear information to ticket purchasers.
  • Acts as a ticket seller, or supervisor of ticket sales as necessary. Accurately dispenses tickets as requested by patrons; accepts payment and makes change accurately. Maintains accurate record of daily balance of cash received, tickets sold and change bank/vault. Able to work independently and handle most box office questions without assistance.
  • Completes, or assists in completing information required for weekly payroll for the review of the Ticketing Manager prior to submission to Human Resources.
  • Maintains a close relationship with the Moncton Wildcats and/or other major tenants, including order processing, reporting, season setup & ticketing, assistance and troubleshooting.
  • Assists with and/or prepares a daily report of business transactions. Ability to run various ticketing reports based on data requirements.
  • Accurately assists with and/or prepares nightly deposits and reconciliations. Accurately assists with and/or prepares deposits and documentation for armored car services.
  • Works with the marketing department on the creative design and layout of marketing and promotional materials. Assist the Ticketing Manager with monitoring the venue & ticketing websites and social media sites to ensure accurate and timely public information is being displayed.
  • Works with the sales team on renderings for potential venue advertising opportunities.
  • Assists the Ticketing Manager in processing promoter ticketing requests, group sales orders, and any other day of show requirements as necessary. Maintains accurate Corporate customer account records in cooperation with the Ticketing Manager.
  • Manages and oversees the distribution and processing of the premium seating tickets (club tickets and suites), in cooperation with the Ticketing Manager.
  • Responds to customer queries and service requests while maintaining a positive rapport with the public and show representatives. Handles customer complaints professionally and efficiently, as required.
  • Maintains communication with ticket company representatives for updates and/or revisions in computer operations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Assists the Ticketing Manager with management of Ticket Sellers and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMG’s policies and applicable laws. Also addresses complaints and resolves problems in consultation with the Ticketing Manager. Assists the Ticketing Manager with the scheduling of Ticket Sellers, as required.

Education and/or Experience

  • University Degree or Community College diploma preferred.
  • 2-5 years customer service experience in an arena or related venue
  • 1-3 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Box office experience in a similar environment strongly preferred
  • A strong combination of the various education/experience will also be considered.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills required
  • Excellent customer service and public relations skills
  • Proven success in developing and maintaining client relationships in a professional setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and financial procedures, including recordkeeping and balancing
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ticket selling/box office operations
  • Ability to accurately count money, make change

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and computerized ticket systems is desirable.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

No specific certifications are required.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work flexible hours around events, including days, evenings, weekend and holidays as required
  • Must be able to effectively communicate (speak, read, and write) in English, and in French (speak, read, write)
  • Must have professional attitude and appearance
