We are recruiting for a Scheduling and Operations Supervisor responsible for building and maintaining electronic work schedules for staff of the Agency. Developing automated schedule postings for Accommodations Services based on master schedules and arranging for replacement of staff. Review and approve all leave requests for Accommodation Services based on CBA and identified location criteria. This position is responsible for analysing existing scheduling practices and providing recommendations to improve procedures. This is full-time temporary assignment up to 18 months.

Minimum requirements of this position include:
University degree or diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field of study or equivalent combination of experience and education; A minimum of four years’ recent full-time experience in Scheduling, Human Resources or as a Supervisor within related field; A minimum of two years’ experience producing employee shift schedules working in a computerized scheduling system; Advanced computer knowledge and experience with Excel and databases; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality;

Duties and responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
Develop and post electronic schedules for first and second posts for Accommodation Services, allocating shifts as per the collective agreements, O.H.& S.A. and E.S.A.; Develop and maintain master template schedules for all Accommodation Services; Ensuring accurate schedules are available for all employees; Approve vacation requests, unpaid absences, shift changes, leaves of absence requests as per collective agreements and individual location criteria; Update all changes to employees schedules Agency-wide; Complete overtime and premium hours changes to employee schedules prior to payroll processing; Analyze existing scheduling practices and provide recommendations to improve scheduling practices; Monitor and report on attendance trends, vacant shifts, etc.; Support Management in bargaining and grievance processes; Participate in the Agency’s Health and Safety program; Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate including the ability to collaboratively influence decision making and problem solving skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence; Demonstrated knowledge of the E.S.A., O.H. & S.A. and collective agreements with ability to apply regulations as they pertain to scheduling; Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure; Strong analytical, decision making skills combined with attention to detail, ability to multi-task and have above average time management and organizational abilities; Ability to work between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday to Friday; Valid driver’s license and own reliable transportation;
