Our valued public sector client is in need of a Senior Business Architect to to assess, develop and bring forward a cloud-optimized technical architecture as well as a supporting business model which will align with and expand the platform’s current Target Operating Model. This design then paves the way for up to 15 federal departments to move a portion or potentially their entire geo-enabling IT infrastructure to a co-located, enterprise-class and optimized IT environment. In this new environment, partners will be able to power their geomatics capacity by choosing from a variety of Platform and Infrastructure cloud-based services in a more efficient way than ever before. The detailed work informing this objective will address considerations of capacity, performance, availability and reliability, scalability, security, system management, monitoring and administration, business continuity, disaster recovery, availability of support, and affordability.
Confirm enterprise goals and objectives; collect and validate “in scope” geomatics community cloud requirements; clarify current situation, desired improvements; evaluate FGP’s current state solution architecture, business architecture, client & partner profiles, pain points, etc.
Based on SSC Brokerage qualified vendors, establish cloud service provider selection criteria, perform evaluation; provide brief overview of qualified CSP’s; propose configurations based on qualified CSP platforms
Develop a detailed deployment architecture including servers, storage, network, security, etc. Document according to TOGAF guidelines and best practices.
Plan the on-premises to cloud migration project; identify human and technical resources needed; establish success/evaluation criteria; deploy and evaluate migration project
Specialization and Skills:
> 10 years
A minimum of five (5) years of experience with e-government business model development.
A university degree or college diploma in a field related to Business Administration, or Information Technology (IT).
Enhanced Reliability clearance or higher
Experience as a business architect supporting the production deployments of Web applications on a cloud-based technology platform.
