Career Opportunity: Producer, Community Access We have an exciting opportunity for a Producer, Community Access at Shaw TV, Winnipeg. Reporting to the Supervisor, Programming, the successful candidate will be primarily accountable for supporting Community Access Producers and Volunteers as well as producing original staff led content, based in Winnipeg. Accountabilities: – Assist and support Community Access Producers and Volunteers and other community partners as needed
– Strive to ensure 75% of all Access Production Crews working hours are performed by Volunteers
– Accountable for training a minimum of 50 total Volunteer hours per year
– Responsible for the closed captioning of all staff produced content
– Facilitate technical transfer of Access Content to VOD and online platforms
– Utilize technical and production proficiencies such as camera operation, editing, studio and control room skills, audio, graphics, hosting, etc., to support and facilitate Access Programming and arrange such support where outside of employee’s specialty
– Regular tracking and reporting of corporate and regulatory metrics
– Serve in assigned crew roles on mobile, field productions and in-studio productions
– Support Shaw projects and productions as required
– Support Community Outreach initiatives and presentations as required
– Support online content sharing, web site initiatives and social media as required
– Demonstrate Shaw values consistently
– Various other duties as required

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

– Degree/Diploma in broadcast television with two year’s work experience in a broadcast television environment
– An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will also be considered
– Proficient in all areas of field and studio production
– Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Loyal, goal-oriented Customer and Community Focused Team Player with a Positive, “Can-Do” Attitude
– Knowledge of social media
