We have an exciting opportunity for a Revenue/Intermediate Accountant working in our Calgary downtown office. Reporting to the Supervisor, Revenue Accounting, the successful candidate will be accountable for analyzing monthly revenue, preparing revenue reports and reporting financial results.

• Revenue analysis and report preparation
• Review operating margins, report monthly financial results and prepare related written variance analysis to various departments
• Perform various other financial analysis
• Prepare journal entries and book to the general ledger
• Prepare monthly working capital reconciliations and propose adjustments where required
• Identify areas of opportunity to gain operational efficiencies
• Assist with budget and forecast preparation to be used in controlling business unit operations
• Investigate and resolve issues as they arise
• Respond in a timely & courteous manner to business partners
• Assist Auditors and prepare working papers as required
• Complete special projects and other duties as requested

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
• 3+ years progressive accounting experience. Proven team building skills are fundamental to the success of this position
• Degree/diploma in accounting
• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will also be considered
• Advanced Excel with experience in pivot tables and working with large volumes of data. Knowledge of Oracle General Ledger is considered an asset
• Strong attention to detail, ability to analyze financial data and proficient in account reconciliations
• Must have experience working with financial statements and preparing written variance analysis
• Experience with budgeting and planning
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational skills
• A team player with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment with changing priorities and strict deadlines
• Highly motivated, energetic, reliable and goal oriented
• A positive, “can-do” attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy and sincerity
