Career Opportunity: Business Technical Service Representative

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Technical Service Representative working in our inbound call center in our Edmonton office. Reporting to the Supervisor, Business Technical Support, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical and customer service support to our Shaw Business customers’.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
• Provide courteous and professional technical support to Shaw Business customers.
• Troubleshoot technical issues with regards to computer configurations, PC hardware, software, Digital phone configuration and troubleshooting Digital phone.
• Deal with advanced Internet theory and applications, PC hardware and software diagnostics, TCP/IP protocol diagnostics and advanced PC troubleshooting
• Work with customers’ domains by setting up DNS, webspace, and e-mail services
• Look for opportunities to improve our business and elevate customer experiences.
• Promote the features, advantages, and benefits of Shaw Business products and services.
• Escalate technical calls to Vendors and Engineering and Information System departments as appropriate.
• Provide customers with technical information on the advantages of integrating our cable modem into their network.
• Promote the features, advantages and benefits of Shaw products and services to our customers.
• Promote and represent Shaw in a positive and professional manner.
• Various other duties as needed.

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
• Degree/diploma in a computer related field complemented by 2-3 years of work experience in troubleshooting computer and Internet problems.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
• Advanced knowledge of current Windows Operating systems
• Knowledge of PC hardware, routers, firewalls, software, and HTML.
• Confidence with Shaw phone products and services, a willingness to learn more about the product to troubleshoot and resolve customer’s challenges.
• Knowledge of how domain names are registered and how DNS works.
• Ability to work independently and the desire to go above and beyond while contributing to a team’s overall success.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.
• Ability to adapt to change.
• Excellent organizational skills, multi-tasking skills, and adaptable to changing priorities and challenging situations.
• Professional Business Manner.
• Demonstrate sales skills and abilities with the motivation to sell.
• A positive “can do” attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy and sincerity.
