We are currently recruiting for a Senior Buyer (Buyer III) to work at our Coquitlam, BC location. The Senior Buyer position within our Procurement team will be responsible for a wide variety of functions critical to the continued success and effectiveness of the business.

We are looking for an individual that has worked in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with demonstrated successes in Strategic Sourcing, New Product Introduction, Supplier Performance Measurement, Cost Reductions, Negotiations, VA/VE, Project Management and Supply Chain Management, all of which maximizes the site’s overall goals.


Manage and continuously review MRP to ensure accuracy and data consistently meets the requirements of the business.

Issue requests for quotes/proposals (RFQ/RFP) and select best source consistent with cost, quality and delivery requirements. Negotiate and manage long term pricing agreements

Establish and maintain effective relationships with the company suppliers in accordance with the ethical code and standards of conduct maintaining the highest standard of professionalism

Complete purchase requests with domestic and international suppliers by inputting purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and verifying all transactions.

Handle correspondence concerning over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices and report such changes to the interested parties in a timely manner as required.

Act as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement related problems.

Interfacing with our QA team with regard to supplier non-conformances.

Providing analytics as required to include impact of changes on price, FX, waterfall analysis, overall activity levels, savings tracking.

Authorize payment for purchases by reviewing invoices and related documentation.

Maintain appropriate inventory levels consistent with targeted inventory goals as set by management.

Maintain accuracy of stock code information within Expandable, including lead-time, pricing, current supplier information, current purchase order data, etc.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
Bachelor’s Degree, and 5+ years’ experience in sourcing/supply chain management/ New Product Introduction support with IT system knowledge

Advanced ERP knowledge, system skills, and report generation capability

Experience with purchasing Metal, Plastic and Electronics components preferred

Spend management experience of a minimum of: $30mm with 1600-2000 SKUs

Proven project management experience, negotiation and problem solving skills

Solid understanding of MRP and demand-pull scheduling practices is desired

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – must know Excel

Strong Verbal & Written Communication skills

Strong work ethic required

Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, high initiative, ability to handle multiple tasks, organize and prioritize while being self-directed is a must

Must also have a professional attitude exercising interpersonal savvy, confidentiality, demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse environment with appropriate sense of urgency and drive for results.
