The Position:
The Production Coordinator facilitates recurring product order fulfillment and production for projects. This requires working closely with others both outside of and within the manufacturing department on technical and process issues, material supply, and work scheduling from order entry through to shipping product.

Monitor demand and schedule the release of work to the production floor in consultation with material planning and the process area lead assemblers;

Facilitate the orderly progress of orders from initial demand through to shipment to the customer;

Interface with product line and/or project managers to refine production requirements and provide progress information;

Monitor and assist with the timely resolution of technical and process issues impeding production;

Provide assistance to material planners through early identification of issues which may affect material supply such as long leads, part obsolescence, managing inventory levels, and changes to production rates;

Resolve priority conflicts when equipment or processes are backlogged;

Provide feedback to engineers, project and product line managers, and production managers with ideas for product and process improvements to reduce costs and improve productivity; and,

Other related duties as required.

The Person:
This position will be of interest to candidates with:
Technical certificate, diploma, or Bachelor level degree in an appropriate technical discipline;

2+ years experience working in a technical capacity within a manufacturing environment;

Thorough knowledge of Excel and general knowledge of databases; and,

Positive attitude, good leadership ability and superior communication skills.

The ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance and meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program is mandatory.
