As a Staffing Specialist, you will be expected to manage multiple recruiting projects and partner effectively with Hiring Managers to ensure an adequate level of talent is available to meet the needs of the business. As part of the recruitment team, you will help to source and match qualified candidates to the current staffing needs of our locations and departments. This position will help to initiate and build future talent for Secure Energy, while collaborating with managers in interviews and hiring selections.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering Full Life Cycle Recruitment with a strong ability to source and recruit qualified candidates utilizing internet resume databases, employee referrals, cold calling, career fairs and social networking; other creative sourcing activity techniques to ensure positions are filled in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the business groups, capabilities, market challenges and key skills to create proactive recruitment plans and function as a Trusted Advisor to the business
  • Regularly spend time within the operations areas to build a foundation of knowledge and relationships with leaders to gain a specific understanding of operational job functions and expectations
  • Develop and maintain talent pipelines for key skillsets and geographical regions
  • In conjunction with Hiring Managers and HR Business Partners, determine appropriate salaries, using market and competitive data
  • Recommending ideas and strategies related to recruitment that contribute to long term growth of the company and individual service lines
  • Leveraging internal sources of talent and by working with Hiring Manager to identify top performers for internal openings
  • Complete necessary pre-employment processes including offer letter generation, reference checks, background tests, etc.
  • Work closely with internal departments to develop and publish job postings and advertising to various media options
  • Frequent travel to site for project based and ongoing recruitment initiatives
  • Implementing and/or refining the recruitment processes that fits within Secure’s Vision, Mission and Values to deliver the highest quality results

Qualifications and Education Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least 2 – 4 years of corporate or search firm recruitment experience including sourcing and full life cycle recruitment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Human Resources preferred; or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Strong interest and experience recruiting candidates for the Construction, Oil & Gas, Power, Mining, Water, Wastewater, and Environmental industries an asset
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong HRMS/ATS experience with sourcing, tracking and managing candidates
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines, manage priorities and workflow
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with individuals at all organizational levels including Executive level support
  • Strong client focus and commitment to continuous improvement; ability to proactively network both internally and externally by establishing effective working relationships, continually seek new sourcing options, and develop creative approaches to delivering qualified candidates
  • Ability to work independently and as a creative member of various teams
  • Ability to maintain strict levels of confidentiality in handling sensitive/employee information.

Bachelors or better in Human Resource Administration or related field.



2 years: HRMS/ATS experience
